Matt and I have a standing tradition of spending the 4th of July with his parents. His father was a major in the marine corp, so his family is very patriotic. Every year we drive onto the local marine base for the huge fireworks display that the base puts on. Usually it consists of the Marine Corps Band playing the 1812 Overture and shooting off huge cannons in the middle of it. This year the USO brought LeeAnn Womack and she performed for the soldiers and their families. It was pretty cool, but I don't care so much for country music. Mostly Matt and I enjoyed being with his sister Sarah, brother Randy, niece Keegan, and nephew Easton.
